Actively manage a portfolio of municipal bond trust accounts, ensuring proper cash collection in order to facilitate investor payments, properly executing trading direction, reviewing complex legal documentation (mortgages, swaps, credit/loan agreements, trust indentures, letters of credit, etc…), fielding client / investor questions, and managing the activities of 7 account associates.
Work with senior management of issuers/borrowers (primarily CFOs and Treasurers), investment and commercial banking staff, attorneys, accountants, and investment managers to administer credit transactions from inception through maturity and/or refunding.
Manage project funds for the construction of two high-profile hospital chains (hold over $300mm in cash/cash equivalents) – one in Illinois and one in Kentucky as well as a large senior living facility property development ($60mm) in Florida where it is necessary to received documented evidence of expenditures as well as lien waivers in order to provide funding for project draws.
Run all aspects of a 45+ borrower bond issuance program including the monthly payments based on fixed, LIBOR based, or Letter of Credit backed variable rate issues consisting of calculating, billing, and collecting amounts due in order to make payments directly to holders.
Took over client portfolios from internal office closings and led the review to bring neglected files up to the current regulatory and internal standards while also increasing annual fees in order to generate an additional $10,000 annually.
Lead the day-to-day client relationship, including on-boarding of new transactions and building relationships to ensure future deal flow:

Managed a portfolio of structured product trust accounts (primarily collateralized debt obligations) leading the client interaction and performed complex financial modeling involving pools of residential and commercial mortgage loans along with risk offsetting derivatives, in addition to managing a team of 4 analysts preparing the monthly customized reports.
Work with the various deal parties (issuers, investment banks, institutional investors, attorneys, accountants, swap providers) to close and administer bond transactions from inception through maturity.

Worked with current and potential debt clients to prepare budgetary financial models in order to ensure debt repayment adequate cash for business operations and capital projects – typically determining debt coverage of 1.2x or more.

During my International group rotational assignment:
oTraveled to Mexico City (first analyst allowed to do this) to assist in the underwriting of a new $10M loan facility to Mexican Juice producer entering the US market, including presentation to executive loan committee, which including chief credit and executive officers.
oProvided financial statement and industry analysis for the underwriting of overnight funding packages for three large Mexican Banks.
oTranslated Mexican Peso and Euro based financial statements into US dollars and provided financial analysis to assess company performance.
During rotational assignment with the Commercial Real Estate team:
oAnalyzed the credit worthiness and underwrote land acquisition and building construction loans, including building cash flow projection models, for property developer for stand-along triple-net lease buildings (typically pre-leased) in Florida.
o Underwrote refinancing loan for section 8 housing rehab in Pontiac, MI.
Hired on as junior C&I lender by Metro team, where I previously worked as a credit analyst
oOriginated, underwrote, negotiated documents and closed on a debt refinancing package for a private equity sponsored waste management company, which included stock issues warrants as collateral.
oLed independent credit analysis and due diligence as participant in credit syndications (attending bank group meetings) involving financial projection modeling and risk analysis that generated commitment fees and interest income for several large waste management companies where collateral was based on single purpose real estate (landfills) as well as trucks/roll off containers.
oBuilt financial models to determine how various scenarios effected cash on hand and ability to service principal and interest payment requirements.
oUnderwrote a $5M term loan facility and a $3.5M line of credit for a manufacturer of car and truck parts (engine blocks and manifolds).
