I was a senior mechanical engineer and sustaining engineer of printers from initial concept to product retirement. I created low cost designs through creative use of design techniques to minimize part count while meeting product specifications.
Designed several printer mechanisms including the Model A716 thermal printer (yielding revenue of over $3 million annually). Granted U.S. Patent # 6,155,731 for this design.
Provided project management through the creation of product quotations, specifications, scheduling, and cost analyses for inkjet, dot-matrix, and direct-thermal printers.
Determined the most efficient and cost-effective stepper motor and gear combination for the Model A716 and A226 printers.
