Summary
I took an accounting class in high school and that triggered my interest in becoming an accountant. I have been working with money since I was allowed to start working and have progressed form being a cashier to a sales consultant with currency exchange, which I have been doing for a little over three years now. My goal is to one day be able to open my own accounting business where I am the sole employee managing a few accounts. I would really love to work for some companies first, though, to get experience under my belt and figure out which path I want to take in accounting so I can sit for my tests and get certified. As much as I love working in currency exchange and experiencing all the different money and people I do not feel that there is anywhere to go, currently, with this company and would love to expand out to other fields. What I hope to get out of future accounting jobs is experience and knowledge that you can't learn in a classroom to help me with my future goals and plans.

Volunteer Experience
Side Walker and Lead at Lancaster County Therapeutic Riding Center June 2008 - September 2008 (4 months)
When I began at the riding center I started off as a side walker and was then bumped up to leader. The program was mainly for children with disabilities, but there were a few adults with disabilities. It was to help them gain confidence in themselves and to help build muscle tone. My responsibilities volunteering there were >> Tacking up the horses for sessions >> Making sure the correct tack was being used on the correct horse >> Walking next to the horse and rider. Depending on the riders ability to balance I would have my arm across their thigh/knee, gently resting on their ankle or foot, or just walking next to them for security Page4
purposes >> Being able to steady jog or run next to a horse for a period of time >> Leading a horse through obstacles while making sure there was a safe distance between the horse in front of us and putting space between us if needed >> Getting the horse up into a trot safely for the rider >> Holding the horse still for mounts, dismounts, and while waiting for instructions Food Server at Crispus Attucks Association of Lancaster I went with my family and church on weekends to help feed the homeless. We often prepared the meals before we got to the location and sometimes we even rented a snow cone makers as a treat for the kids and played games with them after the meals.
