Engineer, Product Sub-System Engineer (PSSEG) for 8G/10G SFP+ Transreceivers Roles and Responsibilities :
1) Yield Improvement: Data analysis for half a million Transreceivers/week to knell down the reason behind lowering of the yield and propose a solution for it. Evaluate cost, performance, and suitability for release into production. Develop and maintain a systematic debug guide documentation for responsible product. 2) Demand Fulfillment: Meeting the order of more than half a million Transreceivers every week on time. 3) Planning of The Resources: No of testers/operators allocation with varying yield so as to meet the customer demand on/before deadline
4) Quality Improvement : Optimize the process and the product by evaluating various screening prior to the shipment and proliferate the same in production process. Manage Engineering Special Builds in module testing and improve the cycle time performance. Collaborate with R&D team and participate in the design, qualification, and implementation of new test processes.
Key Accomplishments :
1) Improved 15% overall yield for 8 Gigabit RoHS Compliant Long-Wavelength SFP+ Transceiver by optimizing and tuning various settings associated with the product. .( 15% yield improvement in 8G and 10G SFP+ Long Wave Transreceivers accounts for ~ $700K/Quarter net profit of the company) 2) Helped to recover 90% of -40C test failures for 10G Huawei, which is known to be the most important customer of Finisar by proposing and qualifying AC/DC retuning which also in turn improved the eye quality (Transreceiver Performance) at cold temp considerably. (90% of Scrap reduction for 40C temperature test for 10G Huawei amounts to have saved
$400K/Quarter for the company.)
3) Upgraded the software used by the 10G testers and standardize it with 8G testers so as to have maintained the flexibility in testing for production/planners.
