Hess Corp. / Sr. Drilling Superintendent Jan 2013 – March 2015

Overseeing the North Dakota Asset Teams drilling & completions operations. Supervise personnel on locations. Build a drilling program, use of down-hole tools, supervise location, staff, safety, contractors and third party personnel. Nabors "B rigs with Weatherford MPD systems. Took them from 12 to 16 wells a year, under budget using OBM through intermediate, then Salt Water based mud to TD. Laterals out to 22,800’. 1 run curves and 1-2 run laterals, without tearing up equipment or motors. Managing a budget of $1.2 billion dollars. Nabors B1 was the 2013 Rig of the Year for worldwide land based drilling operations.

Oxy USA, Inc. / Sr. Drilling Superintendent April 2010 – Jan 2013

Supervise 4-5 drilling rigs, personnel and drilling operations in the Bakken play in Dickinson, Dunn County North Dakota for the Williston Business Unit. Horizontal drilling with oil and water based mud systems. Ran Strata and Weatherford MPD systems, drilling under balanced. Eventually built 5 MPD systems for Oxy to save on rentals on staff. Saved $4,124,500 over the course of a year. H&P Flex 4S and Nabors “B” rigs. KOP ranging from 7,800’ - 10,150’. Laterals from 5,500’ - 11,500’. Oversee construction of locations, reclamation and disposal. Permitting, local government, contractors, vendors and safety.

EOG Resources / Field Superintendent May 2005 – Apr. 2010

Supervised personnel and drilling operations in the Eagle Ford, Karnes & Gonzales counties. Horizontal drilling with water and oil based mud. Expanded sales and service companies and brought in supply chain management and upstream to service the Eagle Ford. H&P SCR Flex1 rigs. H&P AD Flex 2 & 3 rigs. Ran drillers choke and super-choke holding back pressure.

EnCana Oil & Gas / Sr. Drilling Supervisor Oct. 2001 – May 2005

Drilling Supervisor. Supervised personnel and drilling operations of horizontal gas wells in Colorado, Wyoming & Utah. Green River and Uinta Basins using parasite and string air. Reporting directly to the Drilling Operations Manager. H&P 1,500HP Flex 3 rig.

ExxonMobil / Drilling Supervisor – Offshore GoM Aug. 1995 – Oct. 2001

Offshore installation DSV on deep water permanent installation Hoover Diana. Deep water depth of 4825’, drilling multi-lateral wells. Supervised personnel and drilling operations of vertical, directional and horizontal wells. Oversee safety and drilling of offshore wells in the Gulf of Mexico. Prepare daily operational summary with drilling progress, materials, supplies with daily and cumulative costs.

Nabors Drilling, USA / Drilling Superintendent 1992 – 1995

Supervised drilling operations within assigned territory. Piceance Basin, Rifle, CO.

Fresh water, brine, under-balanced with air and gas on gas and oil.

DRILLING SUPERINTENDENT:

Planning and executing all aspects of the drilling program; the health and safety of all operational personnel, and protection of the environment. Managing drilling operations in order to maximize return on exploration expenditure.

Managing recruitment and performance of all drilling and associated personnel.

Participating and recommending selection of contractors and service companies.

Responsible for ROI, ROA, staff, contactors, construction, well design and cost control.

Ensuring all documentation for drilling approval has been prepared and submitted so that drilling approval is obtained.

Managing daily activities of drilling operations in accordance with company management. Monitoring drilling engineering parameters to support the drilling operation. Liaising with drilling unit, drilling contractor and government authorities. Reviewing and approving operational procedures and drilling programs.

Work with all team members to conduct operations in a safe and environmental manner that protects team members, contractors and the areas we work in.

Directing the construction of new drilling locations, tank battery sites, frac ponds, pad extensions, fencing, landscaping, surface reclamations and to ensure operational and regulatory requirements are met. Prepares project status reports, plans and provide accurate schedules for completion of projects within set budgets.

Coordinates all phases of project development with management, legal, EH&S, permitting, public relations, operations, land, geology, accounting and security departments.

Work with landowners, business owners, land lessees on locations for drill sites, reclaims and repairs of existing pads and roads. Handle surface owner complaints and maintain positive relationships with landowners. Liaison with land department and surface landowners in regard to new drilling construction. Meets with landowner(s) to obtain approval and signatures required to commence operations including drilling location, ingress/egress road and tank pad approvals.

Direct survey and engineering contractors on the layout of drilling locations and surface use plats. Staking locations, staking for new wells on current locations, working with survey companies on landscaping and fencing, working with survey companies and operations on placement of production equipment. Request staking of wells to be drilled, and verify they match the surface use plat on file. Oversee the maintenance of pads, fences, landscaping, lease roads, adjacent roads, berms and erosion control devices.

Ensure that all drilling locations have been prepared according to company drilling standards for upcoming rig mobilizations.
