PROJECT EXPERIENCES:

Design project of REDUCTION OF CHANGE OVER TIME IN

DEBURRING MACHINE as final year project in (April 2009) in ASHOK LEYLAND

DESCRIPTION:

The gear deburring machines better access of deburring wheel on gear tooth and also uniform deburring and chamfering. But the deburring machine cannot hold the different types of gears using the same clamping device. If the machine is deburring one type of gear, the respected clamping device is required to hold the job. For doing another type of gear the whole clamping setup has to be changed. The time taken for changing the clamping device is around 15 minutes which results in a loss of production.

Hence the clamping device has been redesigned such that the same clamping device can be used for the mounting of different types of gears, the crank gear and oil pump gear. In doing so the time for mounting the gear has been reduced considerably.
