PROJECT DETAILS:

Title of the MiniProject : DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF MUFFLE FURNACE

Title of the MainProject : EXPERIMENTAL AND CFD INVESTIGATIONS OF FLOW OVER SPOILER TO DECREASE DRAG IN CARS

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

To reduce the drag force, lift force and to increase the performance of the car by using a spoiler in a sedan type. Experimental and Computational studies have been carried out to estimate the drag force and to understand the flow field around the car body without spoiler and with spoiler at a velocity of 50 m/s. Experiments includes measurement of static pressure in subsonic wind tunnel. The two dimensional simulations using fluent have been performed. Thus we can conclude that as the spoiler is a drag decrease device, hence it can be thus used hereby to decrease the drag only at times of braking by increasing the down force on the car, thereby reducing the traction distance.
