Director for Quality at Red River Army Depot (RRAD) with quality mission responsibilities including repair, rebuild and modification of Bradley Fighting Vehicle Family, Multiple Launch Rocket System, tactical wheeled vehicles, and recertification of HAWK and PATRIOT air defense missile systems
I was responsible for the development, implementation, administration, management, sustainment and expansion of a comprehensive QMS registered under ISO 9000:2008 and coordination with RRAD Environmental Office for the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS) and the Depot Safety office for OHSAS 18001.
Exercised independent initiative and judgment in planning, managing, evaluating, and coordinating the various activities and resources to accomplish the directorate’s missions
Responsible as the depot quality management representative for ISO which included the maintenance of all depot QMS documentation, quality metrics, goals and objectives, monitoring and reporting and performance of management reviews and corrective actions.
Responsibilities required an in-depth knowledge of depot industrial operations, the various strategies for continuous improvement (ISO, Lean/Six Sigma, etc.) and general management techniques and principles. I developed the first QMS/LSS integration plan for depot ISO QMS polices, objectives and goals
Made frequent contact with the RRAD Command group, officials or representatives from economic development organizations, colleges, universities, major private sector contractors, consultants, private industry executives, union officials and depot managers, customers and employees
Designed, developed and implemented multiple comprehensive internal audit programs.
