PROFESSIONAL SYNOPSIS

AIRGAS USA LLC. – East Region 2011-2015

Airgas is the number one supplier of medical, food, and industrial cryogenic & gas products in the United States.

Plant Manager, Piscataway New Jersey (2011 - 2015)

Plan and directed all production and distribution processes on a daily basis to ensure safety, customer service, and operational costs meet P&L expections. Lead the facility to meet its yearly goals of operational expenditures and safety goals in the manufacturing of cryogenic liquids and gases for the medical, industrial, and food industries.

Operational Leadership

Lead the facility through a successful FDA medical audit with no citations or corrective actions. Auditor comments included a well organized filling system and how well the operators were trained in the procedures.

Organized and led a team to perform a risk assessment on moving 12 & 18 pack cradle filling to a location outside the facility resulting in greater efficiency and safety. Employees no longer moved cradles manually resulting in improved safety and speed.

Lead in the implementation of a BIN system for all products kept in inventory. This resulted

less time in finding the product and increased our inventory accuracy from the mid -70% to over 95% on a consistent basis.

Safety Management

Development and implemented a Safety Committee with union members part of the team. The team consisted on Managers, non-union members, and union members so the entire facility was involved in safety.

Lead in the institution of Daily Work Daily (DWD). Each supervisor and/or manager would need to sign off that his shift was left if a static state of safety. The manager for the new shift would have to sign-off that he received the facility in a safe and static. This gave some ownership to all the line supervisors for the facility and have it was kept to a certain standard organizations and cleanliness.

The premier VPP consulting firm, we have developed a comprehensive ten step system to ensure that all VPP requirements are met, and you can achieve VPP status in the shortest possible time and most cost efficient manner.

Consultant (2009 – 2011)

Served as a subject matter expert (SME) in regulatory requirements for plant operations, specifically OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Programs (RMP). Led auditor for all PSM and RMP audits conducted by EHS Excellence. Developed comprehensive safety programs for facilities, which included training material and documentation to meet regulatory guidelines.

AIR LIQUIDE AMERICA SPECIALTY GASES 1995-2009

Premier global producer and distributor of cryogenic liquids including medical gases, food services and industrial inorganic chemicals. Acquired Scott Specialty Gases in 2007.

HSE&S Manager, Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania (2009)

Led health, safety and environment (HSE) policy development and implementation for manufacturing and served as subject matter expert (SME) in regulatory requirements for plant operations, Process Safety Management, OSHA regulations, EPA regulations and state/local government requirements. Set safety objectives for corporation and directed implementation throughout facilities. Established, monitored and managed department budget. Oversaw staff Performance Development System. Recommended actions, evaluated processes, and communicated health and safety concerns to senior leadership. Organized incident review board meetings.

Designed and implemented policies and procedures (Stormwater Pollution Permits, Risk Management Plans, SARA Title II and OSHA 300 Log) to meet applicable environment laws – successfully avoided any fines and ensured continuous operations throughout organization.

Spearheaded development and submission of Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVAs) after evaluation and Tier ranking by Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Project Manager, Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania (2008-2009)

Oversaw and performed inspections, documentation of product defects, corrective action development/implementation and ensured compliance with quality assurance and controls. Managed internal audit programs. Created and submitted SVAs for all plants determined to be High Risk by DHS by initial screening.

Restructured and consolidated high risk chemicals to reduce high risk facilities – saved 1.5M+ in security requirements that would have been necessary to meet Risk Based Performance Standards recently enacted by DHS.

Transformed outdated procedures on Pilgrim System – converted to SmartDoc System to allow for implementation throughout newly acquired Scott Specialty Gases facilities.

Participated in successful audit (no findings or penalties) conducted by New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) on Toxic Catastrophe Prevention Act (TCPA) program.

Plant Manager, South Plainfield, New Jersey (1999-2008)

Managed plant and manufacturing operations of semiconductor and specialty gases. Led P&L accountability, budget allocations, and financial management for plant. Oversaw safety, operations and business development.

Operational Leadership

Eliminated costs due to common carrier surcharge increase and implemented efficiency improvements in freight out for specialty gases that resulted in $170K credit.

Managed and led complete development, vendor relations, local regulatory communication, equipment movement and setup for Northeast Distribution Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Slashed out-of-spec production from 30% to zero for CVD CO2 cylinders by transferring and implementing manufacturing to Northeast Manufacturing region.

Safety Management

Orchestrated and led cross-functional team to create safer business practices throughout facility and warehouse and implemented Security Awareness and Preparedness program for facility.

Ensured continued operations and eliminated Lost-Time Accidents throughout tenure.
