MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PROJECTS
Senior Design project: Micro-Bending Machine to Achieve Pure Bending in MicroTubes, Advisor Yannis Korkolis 09/14-5/15
Developed Arduino coding for precise control of angular rotation of step motor.
Designed, ordered supplies from Bill of Materials, Machined in house and assembled multi-component subassemblies to final design.
Retained in state for future work for research and analysis
Fluid Dynamics Final Project: Effects of Dimples on Coefficient of Drag of a Golf Ball
Analyzed data input from force balance using MatLab and Excel to observe the change in boundary layer separation caused by caused by the dimples (surface roughness)
oWas successful in completing goals and repeating known results of boundary layer experiments
Heavy use of data analysis in MatLab in this course and continuing courses
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate Research May 2014 - August 2014
University of New Hampshire – Mechanics, Materials, and Manufacturing Lab
Reverse engineered from a single image, a four-point bending mechanism used to bend a microtube in pure bending. Created detailed designs, assemblies, drawings, and Bill of Materials using SolidWorks. Computed nesesary calculations for dimensions and tolerances in designed mechanisms.
Teacher Evaluation Assistant May - November 2013
University of New Hampshire – Office of Student Affairs and Research Development
Worked with a team to sort, correct, and send for evaluation teacher evaluations for all Colleges at UNH
Created efficient filing, shipping, and return system – required organization and attention to detail
Campus Recreation Assistant May – August 2013
Was responsible for maintaining and operating the campus and community recreation center throughout the summer.
Worked multiple 12 hour shifts during throughout the week including weekends was entrusted to open and close facilities, handle transactions with community members, and attend to the front desk.
