Position Diesel mechanic apprentice & Unit shop Mechanic
Duties & Responsibilities
Worked on all models of ERF trucks, T 3500 Mazda, Mercedes Benz atego and Sprinter, -Bedford, Neoplan benz luxury coaches, Volvo FL 10, FH12,Western star trucks, DAF etc.
Carried out overhauls of Cummins engines,(N14,M11,L10,I.S.X), Fuller eaton and Rockwell transmission units, Water pumps, Oil pumps, Compressors, PTO gearboxes, generators etc…
Cylinder heads reconditioning- pressure testing, valve refacing and lapping
Repair of pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems.
Repair of electrical and electronics systems on trucks.
Carried out truck rebuilds at Unifreight and Hubert Davies
Attached to Cummins Zimbabwe for 3 months carrying out engine rebuilds

Major duties & Responsibilities
1 Principal Accountabilities
(Management of all workshop processes & Activities)
Compile daily, weekly and monthly workshop reports.
Authorizes the stores requisitions for spare parts from stores.
Assists Human Resources in recruitment and selection of workshop staff.
Operates the E-Check for diagnostics and all available options.
Liaise with the buyer in the purchase of spare parts.
Procurement of spares.
Conduct road tests to ascertain that vehicles are ready for duty.
Quality control.
Formulation and implementation of systems.
Ensure workshop staff adhere to Safety Health Environment Quality (SHEQ) procedures.
Open job cards and sign them when the job is completed.
Repair of trucks when necessary-freightliners and Internationals.
Attend to breakdowns locally, Zambia and DRC.
Allocate fuel to all company vehicles.
Manage truck operations and logistics.
Selling of trucks from America.
2. Man Management
