1. POST-GRADUATION

RESEARCH BASED PROJECTS

Title : A Simple Testing Environment for Multicore Embedded Software Systems

Platform Used : Linux O

Description: Analyze the performance of different algorithms in various embedded

platforms. Testing procedure is done manually and execution time for each was calculated

for 10,100,1000,10000 data . Using OpenMP parallelism is implemented on multicore

systems. Algorithms were implemented on Beagle bone black, Raspberry Pi and Desktop.

2. UNDER GRADUATION

MAIN PROJECT

Title : Wi-Max Interoperability with Wi - FI in Next Generation Network

Company : Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited

Role : Team Leader

Description: Integrating Wi-Fi on LAN side and Wi-Max in WAN side by providing a

complete wireless solution for internet access, which satisfies the need for mobility while

communicating. Interoperability uses the handover to ensure the mobility of a mobile

terminal through various communication infrastructures, supported by these two techn ologies

of wireless networks. The test scenario consists of: Server, Wi -Max BS, Wi-Max CPE, Wi-Fi

APs, and mobile terminal. Configuration the CPE and APs were done and bandwidth test

results were obtained using the evaluation tool .

MINI PROJECT

Title : Wireless switch

Role : Team Leader

Description: Controlling devices of the house from outdoor and indoor with a remote using

RF signals. There is a transmitter and a receiver section. The transmitter section will be in the

keypad. The keys in the keypad wi ll be assigned the turn ON and turn OFF functions of the

devices. Based on the key pressed, corresponding signal to it is transmitted. Here RF rays

are used to increase the range. The receiver section receives it and the device works

according to the funct ion of the pressed key.

SEMINAR

Title : Active Eye - glasses with Local Dimming

Description: Direct exposure to relatively bright light sources wipes out the total visual

Perception. The most remarkable example of this situation is driving a car at night, while

the other cars are coming from the opposite lane with headlights on. A set of transparent

LCD equipped active glasses can be used to solve this light adaptation problem. First, the

location of the light sources are determined using an on board camera which is assembled in

front of the glasses. After processing image data, the locations of the bright light sources

are darkened and the disturbing effect of intense light sources is reduced.
