EXPERIENCE
6/13 – 12/13 Production Trainee – RUPAM Overseas, Jamnagar, INDIA
- Developed Production reports of Foundry department by using MS Excel and analyzed it.
- Implemented Production Cost Economics in new product development and improvised the cost.
- Proposed technical assistance to Manufacturing Design team (Process flow).
- Developed CNC Program and implemented on CNC machine (Siemens controller – SINUMERIK 828D)
- Improved manufacturing by making leaner by implementing the KPIs in the process.
- Developed the Sampling batch size for new product and supervised in Quality check of the final product.
- Inventory check of raw material (scrap), its sorting process and semi-finished goods for next process.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Senior Project - Continuous Extrusion Process (Industry Defined Problem) July 2012 – May 2013
- Developed a new process in line of manufacturing to enhance synchronization between induction furnace and extrusion
press. Implementing concepts of Production Technology and Heat Transfer in compute to remove bottle necks of the existing
process. Analyzed the viability and feasibility of the design.
- Implemented a new design, a rotary table, with six molds, equiangular, a water tank with individual pressure pump attached
to mold’s water jacket, inlet and outlet guides and runners, pneumatic actuators, timely harmonized to attain desired output.
- Developed a functional design by using Pro-E. Improved the Productivity and Quality of the product.
Design for Manufacturability – Shark Spray Mop Jan 2015 – May 2015
- Improved the existing design by eliminating complex and supporting parts and replacing with new designed parts in the
product by using the Pro – DFM software and the traditional Boothroyd Dewhurst method.
- Increased operating efficiency up to 3% - 4%, decreased the bill of materials, number of operations in assembly, supply chain
cost, inventory cost, hence the product cost (from cost of manufacturing $28 to $25). Concentrated on lean manufacturing.
Total Quality Management – Rupam Products (Virtual Company) Jan 2014 – May 2014
- Developed a new company (Professor – prospective client), developed a new product, procured the materials or technology
or services from other four companies (collaboration), Implemented TQM dimensions, ISO Certified, Eco-friendly efforts, Used
CORA, Control charts, PFRA, RFIDs to make a product of required quality and approach to zero defect.
Failure Mode Effects Analysis – Pressure Cooker Jan 2015 – May 2015
- Implemented the cause-effect analysis on the base of failure mode of pressure cooker. Rated the severity, occurrence and
probability on the scale of 1-9 to calculate the risk index number, hence to do the risk assessment. On the base of the number
in the region it falls given the recommended action required.
Engineering Cost and Production Economics – IKEA Sep 2014 – Dec 2014
- SWOT Analysis, Implementation on new technology in ware housing, KIVA systems (unmanned vehicle). Using concepts of
AGV and ASRS. Comparison between conveyer and KIVA. Cost Analysis ($0.55 per product in compare to $3.5), Expense
Benefits, Lower fulfillment cost, Reduce product Cost, and Double Productivity.
Project Management – KARMA FORTUNES Gated Community Business Proposal & Estimate Sep 2014 – Dec 2014
- Developed a gated community in Jersey city, NJ (3BHK & 2BHK apartments including amenities). Constructed a scope, planned
the layouts, developed a work breakdown structure, scheduling, generated the cost estimate sheet, time lined the construction
work in Gantt chart using MS Project Professional.
- Analyzed the project with capital budgeting. Assumed sales forecast, Calculate NPV, find the breakeven point, framed the
payback period and cash flow, added risk analysis and requirement of contingency to the project.
