Skills & Abilities I obtained my Class A CDL when I was 21 years old and have been in the trucking industry ever since. Most recently, I was the sole weekend dispatcher for Barrett DirectLine where I would bid on, build and dispatch loads to my drivers and partner carriers.

Before I was old enough to get my CDL, I graduated Diesel Mechanic School and worked for a local trucking company in Tampa starting in the tire bay and working my way up to PM, repairs and clutch jobs which I would complete in my eight hour shift.

I was a computer systems administrator for a convenience store chain based in Tampa after Y2K and I am Microsoft MCSE Certified for Windows NT Server. I was responsible for the phase out of the old Telzon phone based system the stores used to transmit sales data to the home office, and set up a new PC system to transmit data via the internet.

My sales experience included managing sales reps in the field, direct sales, and reporting sales figures via Excel and Microsoft Word. This is where I learned that I was excellent at multi-tasking and loved solving problems under pressure.

Experience Dispatcher, Barrett DirectLine Expedited Services, Bentonville, AR

2/2014 – 6/2015

Dispatched for a 90 unit expedited freight company with tractor-trailers, large straights, and sprinter vans. Bid on loads to keep my drivers running as well as manage our customer freight. I would then build the loads and dispatch to my drivers or post the loads for our partner carriers to cover. I was the sole point of contact for the company all weekend long. I was responsible for driver breakdowns and freight recovery.
