Hewlett-Packard, Houston 1994-2015

Quality and Training Manager 2012-2015

Managed a 650K project to build the first Americas Learning Center to simulate operation and reduce training time by 50% and improve product quality. Designed a feedback mechanism to identify gaps in performance for continuous improvement.

Pioneered the Quality and Training team and hired three supervisors, one analyst and realigned the assignment of 84 associates. Coordinated ISO, customer, government audits and certifications in compliance with the QMS(Quality Management systems). Addressed internal and customer complaints using RCCA(Root Cause Corrective Action), QCCA(Quality Control Corrective Action), 8D and CAR.

Designed a Quality data-gathering tool to drive Lean improvements and Best Practice Sharing to reduce non-functional failures and improve First Pass Yield to 90%.

Introduced and trained the entire manufacturing team an average of 42 new products per quarter. Worked closely with the Global Business Unit and New Product Introduction Engineers to update methods, bill of materials, processes per quality standards, tolerances and engineering changes.

Employed Lean tools in support of Value stream lines like, 1) Takt time, 2) Fish Market, 3) Line Stoppage Rules as a preventive action, 4) A3 to analyze current and look forward state, 5) 5 WHY, 6) 5S, 7) Roto Cube and Visual boards where daily team meetings occurs, 8) Poka-yoke a process, 9) Wrote and approved charters to drive Kaizens, 10) Required all teams to do Gemba walk and supervisors to submit daily Standard Work compliance.

Lead multiple Kaizens to, 1) Write Standard work for all Quality audit positions, 2) Standardize all training materials for global distribution, 3) Data Analyst scope of work.

Delivered yearly reviews, recommended promotions, planned employee development, handed termination/corrective actions and handled employee issues in coordination with Human Resource.

Inventory Control Manager

Material management to reduce discrepant material inventory by 700K and cleared the Force Cage of obsolete parts with supplier qualification and installed Fast Pic inventory tool for tracking and parts ordering.

To support all manufacturing lines, managed majority of the 40 million worth of raw and in process materials with three supervisors, 3 analyst and 120 associates. Redesigned and implemented bin audits to improve inventory accuracy to 95%.
