WORK EXPERIENCE

Mechanical Engineer Intern Microteq Engineering Inc. – San Antonio, TX May 2014- Aug 2014

Led project scheduling to meet deadline of manufacturing projects.

Aided machinist on the shop floor towards their defined work by administering their process travelers and optimized the manufacturing process by performing time study.

Applied lean concepts for process optimization.

Interpreted blueprints, engineering drawing and generated bill of materials (BOM) in MS EXCEL.

Inspected and identified problems with manufactured/ assembled part and prepared detailed reports.

Engineering Intern Suzlon Blade Technology- India Aug 2012- Dec 2012

Studied wind rotor blade and observed hub section of blade as nonperformance region.

Engineered designs of vortex generators in CATIA to implement on rotor blade in order to deliver desire performance.

Performed CFD analysis of whole assembly in ANSYS and tested the model in subsonic wind tunnel.

Validated experimental results with computational results and recommended that rotor blade with vortex generator offers optimum performance.

PROJECTS

Design of Cooling and Ventilation of a Photo Voltaic Telecommunication Shelter at High Altitude Spring 2015

Modeled unattended photo voltaic (PV) telecommunication shelter situated at 9,678 feet with attached lead acid gel based storage battery compartment using FloVENT.

Determined steady state response for the worst case scenarios during winter and summer in FloVENT 10.1

Observed stratification of hydrogen and hot air near roof due to charging and discharging of battery and heat load from IT equipment. Gravity dampers are used for exhaust along with placing two one way valves on roof. Exhaust gravity dampers are tested in AMCA 210-99/ASHRAE 51-1999 airflow test chamber.

New design resulted in lowered maximum temperature and hydrogen evacuation in shelter.

Thermal Analysis of 3d Packaging for Various Solders Bump Materials Spring 2013

Designed flip chip electronic package in Pro-E and performed thermal analysis in ANSYS for lead and tin based solder ball alloys.

Tin based alloys for solder balls are effective in rendering low temperature on the die than Lead based alloys.

PUBLICATION
