Time Series US Unemployment Data March 2015
-Analyzed and plotted US employment data from 1948-2009 to determine an Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) process.
-Fitted an ARIMA(2,1,2) with two MA seasonality components to demonstrate business cycles using auto.arima in the forecast package
-Forecasted unemployment rates for the next 24 months based on ARIMA(2,1,2)(0,0,2) Model using forecast package in R
Model & Forecast S&P 500 March 2015
-Found the cumulative sum of monthly percent change in S&P 500 Index and compared it to the values of the S&P 500 Index to determine an accurate model for the fluctuations in stock prices
- Fitted and plotted an ARIMA(1,1,1) model to the S&P500 Index data in R
-Forecasted S&P 500 Index for the next 24 months and determined a relatively constant trend from the ARIMA(1,1,1) model using forecast package in R
Hang Time of American Football Punts March 2015
-Used SAS to analyze distance and hang time of punts in the National Football League to determine the factors that contribute to the hang time of a punt.
-Ran standard regression and normality procedures to find the best linear model to predict the hang time of a punt
-Found that the left leg strength and overall leg strength contributed most to the linearity of the data.
Graphical Editor March 2015
- Developed an interactive vector graphics editor in MFC/C++ using Microsoft Visual studio.
