Senior Fuel and Ash Technician/Coal Plant Operator

Operated, inspected, maintained, and lubricated coal handling equipment; such as conveyors, trippers,

crushers, feeders, breakers, screens, loaders, ash handling and dust control equipment.

Shifted railroad cars by operating locomotives and manipulating cables; operated car heating equipment;

inventoried railroad cars; acted as a scale operator; prepared locomotives for operation and standby, and

other related railroad car activities. Such as shifting coal, limestone and gypsum cars to the appropriate

areas.

Read, interpreted, and implemented technical information found in manufacturers' and OEM

technical manuals, electrical and mechanical P&IDs, operating and maintenance procedures and MSDS’s.

Operated, inspected, and lubricated car dumpers and auxiliary equipment, locomotive cranes, and fuel

handling mobile equipment; such as tractor-bulldozer combinations, street sweepers, backhoes, loaders,

locomotives, gradall, track mobile, skid steers, hydraulic cranes, dredger, snow plow and dump truck.

Prepared work permits and administered the SAFE Access to Plant system, as it applied to the equipment

under my control.

Inspected, repaired, adjusted, serviced, and troubleshot equipment.

Maintained records of coal cars, and tonnages and input information into computerized system.

Wrote work orders and input data into work history file.

Maintained equipment and working area in a clean condition including shoveling, vacuuming, degreasing,

washing, sweeping, and utilized other various cleaning methods.

Performed electrical disconnect, switching and grounding; performed electrical and mechanical operations

to place equipment in and out of service safely via LOTO Red Tag System.

Performed maintenance activities as required in support of the overall maintenance of the plant.

Assisted in the planning and layout of jobs including parts identification and ordering of equipment needed

to complete the job.

Conducted shift change by briefing the incoming Coal Plant Operators of current plant status and issues.

Adjusted belt scrapers, seals, and side skirting; aligned feeder belts.

Performed routine equipment testing and maintained environmental logs.

Monitored equipment condition utilizing control room indication, field devices, and portable test equipment.

Rebuilt coal chutes, repaired car dumper and overhauled equipment.
