PROJECTS

Designing a Color Detector:

A color detector that could differentiate between a different spectrum of blue, green and red. This was accomplished by using only one photo transistor, amplifiers, comparators and finally a programmable logic device (GAL22V10), this last one was programmed using VHDL in order to sort out the different configurations given by the comparators.

Ultrasonic Bracelet for the Visually Impaired (Senior Design Project): A device was designed to alert the user for nearby objects by calculating the distance using ultrasonic sensors (up to 6ft) and infrared sensors for close proximity so that the user do not hit the device while scanning certain area. The ultrasonic sensors trigger a buzzer to produce different sounds depending on the delay of the echo signal received while the infrared sensors trigger a signal to turn on/off a small vibration motor.
