Privately held company. Member of the Executive Leadership Team. Developed strategy for market penetration, customer and product mix, sales forecast, sales incentives and service performance. FXI is the leading producer of foam innovation for the Home, Healthcare, Electronics, Industrial, Personal Care and Transportation Markets. Products include finished goods, sub-assemblies, services and raw materials for OEMs, fabricators and retailers.

Foamex Asia Co. Ltd., Technical Foam Division 2003 to 2007

Vice President – Manufacturing, Bangkok, Thailand

Directed a team of thirteen direct and indirect sales personnel and two independent distribution agents in Korea and Taiwan. Oversaw all facets of the operation and had full P&L responsibility. Conceived and Implemented a Stage Gate system to manage new product development. Implemented Lean Manufacturing concepts on low volume production.

Built the Technical Foam Division sales revenue from $3.5m the first year to $8.7m in third year.

Qualified the plant for ISO-9000-2000, TS-16949, HP Level 1, and Home Depot quality systems.

Achieved preferred vendor status from major clients Maxtor, Hewlett Packard, Western Digital, Seagate and Home Depot.

Managed the global supply chain for raw materials; reduced cost by 10%.

Jun 2002 to 2003

Lead construction of 110,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Negotiated all contracts for purchase and installation of equipment from suppliers in England, Germany, Australia, USA, Taiwan, Thailand and China.

Completed the design for technical products foam plant within economic budget constraints.

Lead the development for a second generation $8m annual sales Hard Disc Drive product.

Director of Commercial Development – Asia 1998 to 2001

Eddystone, PA

Founding member of a start-up Polyurethane based manufacturing business in Bangkok, Thailand. Developed a system for product development to ensure technical and economic feasibility. Set up the accounting system for US based activity between the US and Thai JV. Directed all purchasing and logistics negotiations for materials from the US. Engineered testing of fabricated parts in an anechoic chamber for computer hard drives.

Presented foam division strategy to the Main Board of Directors of Foamex; and won approval for the project.

Directed development of first hard disc dampening foam. Captured 80% market share from Maxtor, Western Digital and Seagate. $5m annual sales.

Negotiated shipping contracts with major carriers, reducing cost by 40%.
