It included liaising with owners, architects and contractors and reviewing projects during construction to ensure it was built in accordance with the drawings and the provincial codes and standards. Some of the projects worked on included public institutions as well as residential buildings in Ontario. The projects included steel framed, load bearing masonry and timber framed structures with cast in place / precast hollow core slab floors. Was responsible for analysis and design of the structures as well as project management during construction.
ABDUL JALIL CROCKER PARTNERSHIP (AJCP), DUBAI, U.A.E. 1996 – 1997 SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Reporting to the President of this structural engineering consultancy, this role involved analysis, design and project management during construction of various projects. It included liaising with owners, architects and contractors and reviewing projects to ensure it was built in accordance with the drawings and the codes and standards in the Emirates.
- Responsible for the analysis and design development of the Wafi Shopping Mall Extension in Dubai. This project is a four storey reinforced concrete shopping complex with basement, administration and ancillary buildings such as the substation and transformer room. Managed the project during construction till completion.
- Responsible for analysis and design development of an 80,000 square foot single storey steel framed warehouse with an ancillary two storey steel frame office building. Also managed the construction of the facility, a warehouse for storing alcoholic beverages which required stringent specifications especially for racking / shelving and refrigeration.
W.S.ATKINS, DUBAI, U.A.E. 1994 – 1996
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Reporting to the Head of Structural Engineering, this role included analysis and design of residential as well commercial structures.
- Part of a team of engineers responsible for the Deira City Centre Hotel in Dubai. The structure comprises two reinforced concrete eight storey towers with a four-storey link between them on bored pile foundation.
- Responsible for the analysis and design of Emirates Petrol Stations in Dubai which comprises several steel framed structures (gas stations and ancillary structures) on pad foundations at different locations in Dubai. Also managed the project during construction.
- Part of the design team for the development of the Al Musalla Towers in Dubai. The project comprises an office cum entertainment complex consisting of two eighteen storey towers and two five storey buildings with a three storey common basement, and a steel framed entertainment complex. Was responsible for analysis and design of one of the buildings and the entertainment complex.
MEINHARDT (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD 1993 – 1994
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Reporting to the Vice President - Engineering, this role involved analysis and design of the Pasir Ris Residential Complex in Singapore. This is a condominium development comprising several fifteen storey buildings constructed in different phases. This development was on a site where soil improvement works were required. Was responsible for liaising with the geotechnical engineer and the contractor during the soil improvement works.

Reporting to the President of this structural engineering consultancy, this role involved analysis and design of various residential and commercial projects. Also worked as an accredited checker which involved evaluating, analyzing and reviewing the structural design of different projects analyzed and designed by other professional engineers.
