My name is Christopher Costello and I am a graduate of The University of Houston, class of 2011, where I earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. I have a background in both sales and management, as well as experience in residential real estate working as a licensed agent.

As a major part of my undergraduate degree, I took various classes tailored towards management and sales, which have greatly helped shape my success in the working world. These courses include product sales, managerial accounting, cost controls, business development and management leadership. Through my education and real world experience, I have excelled in management roles as well as sales.

For the past year, I have coordinated the nutritional department for Legacy Community Health Services. As the coordinator, I have overseen all patient scheduling and managed eligibility requirements for our patients to ensure compliance with insurance coverage as well as grant funding. Additionally, I am responsible for all accounting and cost control concerning supplements and other nutritional needs of our department. I work closely with Legacy’s finance team to ensure that our department is compliant and all invoices are paid each month. I also assist the lead dietician with matters concerning our patient’s nutritional requirements and concerns, and personally address proper use of their prescriptions. As the only bilingual member of our department, I also serve as a translator for our Spanish-speaking patients and am responsible for their complete understanding of prescriptions, instructions and appointments. My fluency in Spanish includes technical medical terminology as it relates to this field. My experience in the health care field has inspired me to continue my education and I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Health Care Administration. The classes I am taking are greatly increasing my understanding and practical knowledge of the industry and are constantly improving my value as a manager.

I spent the prior two years working for a firm in Austin, Texas, that handled investment real estate. Through this company, I learned the ins and outs of remodeling as well as the issues and costs associated with new construction. My background with cost controls allowed me to advise clients on the practical matters involved in both the home purchasing and remodeling process, including walking them through the time and expense involved with remodeling a property and getting it ready to be rented or resold on the market. I won several awards and recognition as a top salesman, including two trips for top monthly sales and acquisitions. I was also honored with awards for introducing and retaining the most investors in a given month. I excelled at networking with potential clients and had a high rate of returning clients.

Prior to moving into real estate, I spent many years working in a managerial capacity in the food and beverage industry. In this role I handled daily responsibilities such as staffing, scheduling, cost control, employee incentive programs and implementation of innovative methods to maximize profits. I have used my experience with incentive programs and innovative sales methods in my real estate career as well, and I believe that my creativity in these areas has contributed greatly to bringing in repeat clients and new referrals.

My strategy in real estate was similar to my experience as a manager in the health care industry, where I place customer service and satisfaction, an outgoing personality and a persistent attitude as top priorities in each transaction. Additionally, my network of contacts, experience and ability to manage my time and responsibilities are all assets I would bring to your company. I am a very determined person and believe this is reflected in my work. I have many years of real-world experience, as well as a firm understanding of the relevant laws, regulations and software within the health care industry.
