Project:

Lemongrass Project – The main product of this plant is Citral which is identical to a main component found in lemongrass and other essential oils. Besides being used in fragrances and flavors for its fresh-citrus, Citral is also a precursor for other aroma ingredients as well as for vitamins A and E. The manufactured chemicals will be used mainly in home and personal care products and fine fragrances, as well as in the food and pharmaceutical industries

Duties and Responsibilities in the above Project:

Lemongrass Projects is divided into two plants, Citral and Menthol. I was assigned in Menthol plant as a Senior Piping Designer. My duties and responsibilities are to produce a 3D model of one area in Menthol Plant. Ensure that the model was reviewed and approved by client (BASF PETRONAS Chemicals). Extract the isometric drawing and issued for construction.

SHELL JURONG ISLAND PTE LTD, THRU (BRUNEL INTERNATIONAL, S.E.A. PTE LTD.)

Singapore is the Shell Group’s largest oil and petrochemicals manufacturing centre in Asia Pacific. It is over 120 years since Shell first invested in Singapore. Shell Jurong Island is made up of several chemical manufacturing assets that produce per year of the following:

120,000 tonnes of ethylene oxide, which is converted into ethylene glycols and high purity ethylene oxide, and up to 40,000 tonnes of ethoxylates. These products are used in applications such as polyester fibres, polyester resins and detergent surfactants.

350,000 tonnes of styrene monomer, the starting material for plastics such as polystyrene, expandable polystyrene and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene. The main applications for these products are in the automotive, electrical, appliances and packaging industries.

175,000 tonnes of propylene oxide (PO), used in a wide range of chemical derivatives including polyols, propylene glycols, glycol ether solvents and flame retardants.

220,000 tonnes of polyols, the main derivative of PO, which are used primarily to produce polyurethane foams, elastomers, adhesives and sealants. Examples of the most important polyurethane end-use applications and markets are furniture and bedding, shoe soles, appliances and construction insulation elements and the automotive industry in general.

SMPO2 – The main product of this plant is Polyols, the main derivative of propylene oxide, which are used primarily to produce polyurethane foams, coatings, elastomers, adhesives and sealants.

Duties and Responsibilities in the above Project:

Shell Jurong Island had four operational plants here in Singapore, and yearly, there’s one plant scheduled for Shut-down for maintenance. I worked in plant SMPO2 which having it’s shut down in October 2014. As Piping Designer, my responsibility is to prepare Detailed Design for some system that needs piping replacement. My duty includes preparing Piping Isometric, P&ID updating, Piping Plan Drawing, and MTO for all the items needed for the maintenance.

Me5 Project – is a Methionine complex at Jurong Island, Singapore. The project is the largest company’s chemical investments to date. It will have a production capacity of 150,000 MT/year. The plant was expected to become operational in the second half of 2014. Evonik aims to strengthen its core business with essential amino acids for animal nutrition.

Duties and Responsibilities in the above Project:

Me5 project – As Area Lead Design in Client side (Evonik), my responsibilities were to ensure that all Piping Layout were made as per standard, P&ID, and client requirements. Isometric extraction was as per schedule to avoid any delay on fabrication. Checking Isometric drawings and review model using Navisworks. Coordinate with Area Lead of EPCM contractor and other discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities in the above Project:

BASF Irganox 1010 Project - The project starts at De-construction stage. During this stage I performed a several site visits to prepare De-construction drawing such as Equipment Layout as per client requirement. Prepared Tie-in List, De-construction model using PDS, extract De-construction Isometric and attended a numbers of coordination meetings with other discipline and with the client. At FEED stage, I prepared Equipment Layout as per new plant requirement. Prepare FEED Tie-in List considering existing and new equipments and pipe lines as per FEED P&ID. Detail Design stage finished December 2012, my responsibility is to support Piping Lead Designer for the completion of all deliverables as per schedule agreed with the Client. Preparing Equipment Layout, Piping Layout, Isometric Drawings, Support Detail, Tie-in List. Prepare 3D Model using PDS software.

BPGSP CLP - To prepare piping layout based on P&ID and Project Specifications. Guide a group of PDMS Drafter to create 3D model, Piping Arrangement and extract Isometric Drawings. Prepare detailed design drawing of Pipe support. To ensures that all Isometrics and Piping Arrangement drawings will be deliver on schedule.

Site Assignment: (July 17, 2011 up September 30, 2011)

Duties and Responsibilities in the above Project:

To update 3D model using PDMS, based on the changes at site. Extract latest isometric drawings, update Piping General arrangement and prepare detailed drawing of Pipe support. Do dimensional check at site to avoid clashing on existing pipe or structures especially in Tie-in area. Survey the best pipe support location.
