GMP Manufacturing Associate II (Downstream Purification)
April 2015-present
Generates internal or external documents (SOPs, batch records, material specifications, etc.).
Make decisions or recommendations that result in favorable project results and client satisfaction.
Participates in facility expansion, validation.
Isolates and purifies proteins from process development and upstream processes in a cGMP environment (chromatography, TFF).
Troubleshoots processes and equipment.
Interacts with clients during initial and subsequent manufacturing campaigns.
Generates operation protocol(s) and production records.
Works closely with purification management to initiate new manufacturing projects and helps develop processes/techniques to meet contract objectives.
Works closely with various departments in order to offer assistance as needed.
Jacobs Technology – Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
Scientist (Chemist)
April 2014-March 2015 (Active DoD Security Clearance)
Serve as a physical scientist supporting the warfighter responsible for the development and implementation of toxic gas analysis techniques in support of toxic fumes testing for the measurement and analyses of concentrations of toxic gas or metal compounds produced during equipment or systems operations.
Collect samples from or near various test items undergoing test situations, such as live fire, air exchange, and weapons firing for customers ranging from test directors, test engineers, supervisors, and environmental personnel within and outside the organization.
Analyze samples using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Continuous Emissions Monitors (CEMs - NDIR, UV, CL, paramagnetic), ion selective electrodes, sorbent media, and cascade impactors. Setup of test ranges including instrument/sampling assets and calibrations.
Maintain and repair chemical instrumentation by ordering parts and performing repairs in accordance with service contracts and government calibration schedules.
Analyze and collect the complex or unprecedented samples that usually require method development and/or modification including but not limited to the operation of fuel burning systems, the activation of fire suppression systems, and the monitoring of hazardous air emissions for pollution compliance.
Prepare technical reports presenting the results of the investigation, methods and techniques used, data obtained, recommendations, and conclusions reached.
Perform various tests and determine the appropriate course of action when deficiencies were found. Demonstrate knowledge of test and evaluation directives to ensure data obtained was complete and accurate.
WR Grace - Baltimore, Maryland
Senior R&D Analyst
July 2012-April 2014
Analyzed specialty chemical catalysts from manufacturing processes and research laboratories using X-ray diffraction & fluorescence techniques.
Organized and submitted data and reports with deadlines to management and process engineers.
Conducted internal ISO and GMP audits in a chemical facility.
Contributed to CAPA database by issuing action requests to appropriate parties and summarized analytical CAPA data for management.
Prepared standards and instrument calibrations without direct supervision.
