Imagine Learning – (6 month Contract – extended) Provo Ut. Dec 2014 to May 2015. Agile environment.

Debugged and reinstated an old internal scripting language that uses Telerik (for Silverlight) to test on line reporting functions. Automated the Single Sign On update, user mapping and test process. Used DOS, psExec, msiexec, Python, C# Web Driver Selenium, NUnit and MS SQL Server, Visual Studio, TFS. Manual testing of various related functions to both verify the automation and the applications including remote devices.

LDS CHURCH – Riverton UT – May 2013 to Dec 2014. Enterprise Content Management (ECM). Semi Agile environment. QA Engineer 3. (1 year contract – extended.)

I had responsibility for team quality, managing many projects for manual and automated testing. I built a small automated test framework for a complex invoicing system. I used Selenium Web Driver with Junit, the FileNet API, remote server connections, Scala, Perl, Eclipse, IntelliJ, Git, SVN, databases, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, Firebug, Linux and Windows administration, etc. I simplified and ‘lightened’ an overly burdensome manual test process, focusing it on the UI and greatly reducing the time and effort needed to accomplish the same quality level. I made two Java FileNet API utilities to aid in the testing process. Quality Center and JIRA.

TRANSZAP CORP – Denver CO – Jan. 2012 to Feb. 2013. Test Automation Engineer. (New CEO decided he wanted only manual testing.)

Linux, Windows, Agile environment. Test automation and exploratory testing for web based energy industry invoicing. BASH, SQL, SVN, Jenkins, Jmeter, Perl, and Java Web Driver Selenium test automation. I Created tests which deploy latest code releases from Jenkins, executed Selenium, Perl and Jmeter tests against front and back end apps for simultaneous multiple invoice processing.

RICOH – Boulder CO – Nov 2010 to Nov 2011. Sr. Development Engineer. (Very manual testing – no real interest in automation. Not what I wanted.)

Testing, test procedures and process improvement for Enterprise Printers. Adobe certifications, PostScript and BASH test automation, Manual test, bitmap comparison technology.

TEAMLOGIC IT franchise business startup – Olympia WA – April to Oct 2009. Owner. (Did not work out due to poor economic timing.)

Set up an IT services business following instructions from franchise. Prepared the business plan and competitive analysis, hired and trained technicians, implemented marketing programs, prepared proposals and sold services. Daily networking activities with Chamber of Commerce, network groups and other business.

INTEL – DuPont WA – June 1999 to March 2009. Server Management Firmware Evaluation Team Lead. (Left to start business).

Technical and project management duties. Project managed the development of hundreds of modularized automated and manual IPMI and BIOS tests: Test planning and development, IPMI specification analysis, process improvement, reporting metrics, quality tracking, bug tracking and resolution, code reviews, procedures, etc. Studied C and Python as part of a required study program.

LINUX and Windows server test and administration: hardware and software:

Test planning and development, load/Performance testing. Used numerous test tools: Perfmon, Iometer, iostat, TOP, netstat, ksysguard, MS Exchange LoadGen, Oracle, MySQL, Sendmail, OpenManage, Windows and Linux Systems administration, etc. Network infrastructure load balance and performance analysis. Built 300+ Windows client test bed using physical and ESX VMWare servers. Helped build and managed a full up IT structure to test on. Five Invention disclosures covering Sensor testing, LAN connectors and on board LAN teaming and drivers.

COMPAQ COMPUTER CORP – Houston TX – Feb.’97 to April 1999

(Had to get out of Houston weather.) Sr. Developmental Engineer, Storage Products Div., Primary Storage (HDD) Group. Performance evaluation of SCSI Hard drives. Created a reliability qualification procedure using three parameter Weibull distribution measuring infant mortality.

MAXTOR CORP – Longmont CO – 1995 to 1997

Reliability Test Team Leader and Staff Reliability Engineer. Lead test teams through Engineering Evaluation Tests (EVT) and Design Verification Tests (DVT). Lead development of numerous qualification tests.

MICROPOLIS CORPORATION – Chatsworth CA – 1991 to 1995

High performance SCSI Disk Drives. Quality Engineer & Corporate Statistician:

Statistical and QA applications and studies, QA training and procedure implementation for disk drive engineering: Infant mortality, quality control, reliability, etc.
