Projects
Master Thesis Project SFSU, San Francisco, Sept 2014-June 2015 Created an android app for posting the images on Facebook and Instagram. The Project uses Facebook SDK and Material Design as libraries for implementing the functionality. Once the user picks his preferred choice, the picture shall be uploaded on either Facebook or Instagram with a caption. This functionality is further to be integrated with a large project as one of the modules, where cluster of photos are generated when the user displays the timeline. Then the cluster image, description, time, location, and the participant details are posted on Facebook as status update. MultiPlayer Game Development Project SFSU, San Francisco, Jan 2015-Present Created a multiplayer game in Unity 3D with focus on developing both the client and server for a multiplayer game. This project involves Game Concept Design, Artwork Support, Game Client Development, Game Server Development, Game Network Protocol Development, Database Development, Game, and Contents Development. The project also involves creation of Web Service calls for communication between Unity Client and the Simulation Server. Android Application for Kids SFSU, San Francisco, Sept 2014-Dec 2014 Created an android app “KidzCredit “for kids. The purpose of KidzCredit is to allow parents to monitor their kid’s activities and give credits for their chores (tasks) and allow the kids to complete their tasks by giving them scores. The kids can also send their completed chores for approval simply by clicking on the chore and then, view their scores. Used SQLite as the database for this app. (Link: https://github.com/jsyal/Android_js) Cloud Computing Project SFSU, San Francisco, Sept 2014- Dec 2014 Implemented projects like running Hadoop map reduce on IBM Smart Cloud, using map reduce framework to implement word count and anagram count, writing application code to implement an application that runs on the Google Application Engine (GAE) platform to manage multimedia data including images, audios and videos. The Blobstore APIs used in this project served data objects (called blobs) that are much larger than the size allowed for objects in the Datastore service. After running these programs on the clusters in various configurations at three different times of the day and recording the Unix session allowed to measure the performance in different scenarios such as roundtrip time processes on same node; roundtrip time processes on different nodes; barrier time, processes on same node; barrier time, processes assigned in spread mode; and reduce time, processes on same node.
Software Engineering Project SFSU, San Francisco, Jan 2014- May 2014 Performed the role of Team Lead for creating a Web Application “DealClick”, an on-line classifieds for selling used items. The project development was divided into five formal milestones (Milestones 1 – 5: high level specs and design; more detailed specs and design; prototype; beta release; and final release and a demo). The project development involved special emphasis on Iterative, Incremental, Agile and User Centered Design methodologies. Used MYQL as the database, Subversion SVN version control system, HTML5, JavaScript, Twitter Bootstrap2 with the Flatly theme3, An Amazon Web Services EC2 instance running Ubuntu with an Apache web server for the web application.
