WORK
EXPERIENCE
Product Engineer-Co-op, Flex-N-Gate, Bradford, ON May 2013 - August 2014
• Oversaw the development of a hoist program from product design and validation, prototype builds and costing to production launch for an American multinational automaker under guidance of senior product engineers.
• Spearheaded redesign and optimization of a patented product, to meet cost targets (Cost savings of 13%) and solve existing functional design issues.
• Managed warranty returns from customers by performing root cause analysis, testing, documenting and reporting results and following up with manufacturing, suppliers and customer. Recommended improvements to existing designs of processes to avert identified failures within a group of senior engineers and management.
• Designed and optimized the assembly process and assembly line layout of new products with manufacturing engineers to meet cost and TAKT time targets.
• Performed numerous mathematical modeling, design of experiment, testing and data analysis to assist R&D of park brakes and hoists.
• Developed detailed corporate engineering specifications for laboratory and End of Line Testing of park brakes and hoists.
Engineering Intern, Mahindra Automotive, Mumbai July - August 2012
• Performed a proof of concept study into the use of carbon fiber in automotive part design.
• Designed a car hood in Carbon composite on CATIA and performed FEA using Hypermesh to benchmark it against its current steel counterpart.
• Compiled a reference guide for Carbon composite application in the automotive industry. Engineering Intern, Mahindra Reva Electric Vechicles Ltd., Bangalore July - August 2012
• Designed and performed a feasibility study for a domestic solar charging unit.
• Conducted a customer survey and market study to identify requirements and constraints.
• Optimized design alternatives by carrying out Cost vs. Efficiency analysis.
• Proposed specifications and designs for the solar charging unit to product development heads. ENGINEERING
