I am writing to apply for the position of recently advertised.
I come from a solid background in iron ore mining and material handling, and am seeking to take my career to the next level with a supervisory leadership role. I am currently an Operator Engineering Technician at Canadian Mist Distillery in Collingwood Ontario.
I believe I hold both the technical skills – including mine planning, scheduling and coordinating – and personal attributes, including strong leadership, communication and determination, necessary for the role. I possess high-level understanding of mining development, operations and management.
In my past role as an Underground Supervisor, I was responsible for overseeing underground mine design, planning and scheduling mine development, forecasting, reviewing targets and performance, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and productivity, overseeing site and equipment safety, and ensuring that operations comply with internal and external policy and legislation.
I have recently completed my Operator Engineering Technician degree. I am expanding my role as a supervisor by gaining necessary attributes to succeed in the mining industry.
I believe I am someone who has the right combination of skills and qualities to succeed in this role. I am practical and resourceful, extremely organised and efficient, with a head for operations, and I have the ability to successfully communicate and manage relationships on site. I have the planning production operations and establishing priorities management skills to be a real asset.
My resume is attached and I look forward to being able to discuss the position with you further.
Kind Regards
Blake Gattesco
