Senior Project Manager, METSO MINERALS INDUSTRIES, INC., CANONSBURG, PA 2014 – 2015

Managed bulk material handling projects in Canada, Saudi Arabia, China and Peru, holding responsibility for engineering, manufacturing and delivery of equipment from a global vendor base, installation, commissioning and contract close-out.

Inherited and turned around a car dumper project in Canada which was expected to be a loss with efficient scheduling and skillful final negotiations with customer, fabricators and site contractors to make a 5% profit margin at project closeout.

Satisfied the demanding contractual documentation requirements on a project for apron and wobbler feeders by creatively developing non-Metso standard documents.

Got a reprieve of 4-8 weeks on contract deliverables in post-contract negotiations with customer on a triple car dumper project in China, simultaneously improving engineering and equipment schedule 2-4 weeks by procuring additional internal resources and negotiating with customer, vendors and contractors. Oversaw and lead the Project Management department encompassing 7 direct reports and executed several major projects for complete plants holding direct / overall responsibility.

Reduced lead times and costs by achieving quick finalization of vendor orders. This was the result of developing standardized technical specifications, working together with engineering department, enabling pre-selection of vendors and fabrication shops.
