Imaging Specialist / Senior Systems Analyst

Designed and implemented a phased upgrade / replacement of Symantec Anti-Virus (SAV) clients with McAfee VirusScan using LANDesk and a packaged script that uninstalled the SAV client, cleaned up damaged SAV installs for removal and installed McAfee VirusScan 8.0i. This project reduced the man hours spent by the corporate helpdesk dealing with client related viruses by approximately 85 percent.

Responsible for the proof of concept project that allowed LANDesk Management Suite to be selected over 13 other software distribution tools. This tool paid for itself in reduced man hours in about 9 months.

LANDesk® Management Suite Administrator. Software distribution, software packaging, inventory and operating system patching. Multiple projects with custom designed deployment solutions for internal departmental needs. Example: Designed and tested a SAP fat client deployment to 17,000 plus desktops over the WAN (the fat client is about 600 plus megs. in size. A custom delivery and installation package was developed for this project). This project saved hundreds of man hours.

Responsible for 6 LANDesk application and SQL database servers, 2 McAfee ePO application and SQL database servers. SAN devices and updates were also my responsibility.

Designed, packaged and deployed a streamlined, standardized ghost image to field IT technicians. Operating system image building (Integrated images, automated O/S installs and silent installations), Windows 2000, Xp and Server 2003 images for 18,000+ desktops, laptops and servers.

Designed, packaged and deployed an integrated image that consolidated over 50 hardware platforms, cut the creation time for new images by 700 percent, added modular upgrades and bug fix testing via an IT imaging group. Responsible for the standardization and documentation of said projects. Software, utility cds, Bug Fix media creation, and distribution via cd, web and ISO formats.

Designed, packaged and deployed a web based script to elevate permissions for web based program. This facilitated installs by end users with no installation rights from internal websites. This project freed 5 development groups that were unable to develop pass this problem. This saved the company about $2,000,000 dollars and cost about $5,000 dollars in software to deploy.
