SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

For over sixteen years, I have been performing network and systems administration duties supporting servers and workstations. In 1997 I participated in the first enterprise-wide migration of the Federal Deposit Insurance Company (FDIC)’s network operating system. The migration was from Banyan Vines 5.54 to Windows NT4.0. The old messaging system was not migrated. In 1998, FDIC chose to start fresh with Microsoft Exchange 4.0. The architectural design, planning, and implementation of the enterprise-wide messaging infrastructure was accomplished with the official partnership of Microsoft Corporation. I was given full training as an Exchange administrator, and an NT4.0 administrator. The environment encompassed about 10,000 users and mailboxes. There were 500 mailboxes per Exchange server. All the servers were centralized in Arlington, Virginia. Within 10 months, I took part in the upgrade from Exchange 4.0 to 4.1. Later, I played a part in the migration from Microsoft Exchange 4.1 to Microsoft Exchange 5.5.

The list of some of my activities during the migrations is outlined below:

- Performed user data and account migration/quality assurance

- Created and managed user accounts

- Created and managed e-mails accounts under Microsoft Exchange 4.1/5.5/2000/2003/2007

- Created and managed permissions of public folders

- Created and setup shared mailbox rights

- Ensured that the mailbox policies were respected

- Monitored Exchange backups and sent tapes off-site

- Monitored servers’ performance

I have gained full knowledge of the Windows 2000 Active Directory environment. I became a Windows 2000 MCSA in April 2003 and a Windows 2000 MCSE in May 2003. I became a Windows 2003 MCSA/MCSE in January 2004. Presently, I am a certified MS Exchange 5.5/2000/2003/2007/2010 Engineer (MCTPS). I have experience with Exchange migrations, mailbox administration, message queue monitoring, Outlook support, and have worked with various anti-virus and anti-spam software.

In each company where I subsequently worked I was the Microsoft Exchange 5.5 point of contact and engineer. In 2001, I was introduced to Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange 2000 and have been upgrading my experience to include my present knowledge of Exchange 2007 and 2010 in a 64-bit environment. I am presently working on Exchange 2013.
