Professional Experience

2013 to Software / System Engineer at SAFRAN Group (Sagem Avionics LLC)

2015 Dallas, TX

I primarily worked on embedded software customization projects submitted by our

customers as detailed specifications of what they would like to achieve in terms of

monitoring, reporting and flight data recording for their fleet of aircrafts.

I evaluated technical feasibility and duration of the work to be performed, sent a

commercial proposal to the customer and started the software development upon

placement of the purchase order.

I analyzed and fixed the existing code if any, or started from scratch if no software was

currently loaded on the customer’s airplanes. I implemented and debugged algorithms,

compiled them into onboard-loadable files and delivered them to the customer so the

onboard computers could be reloaded and achieve the proper real-time monitoring and

reporting on wing and thus matching the customer’s expectations.

I was also in charge of the technical support hotline dedicated to the Flight Data

Management computers product line installed on our customers’ airplanes.

Not only in terms of supporting and maintaining the development work sold as a service

and aforementioned but also in terms of troubleshooting any malfunction, networking

and bi-directional communication problems between our hardware units and the other

interconnected systems on the aircraft.

I often had to analyze aircraft wiring diagrams and system requirement drawings of

various systems during the troubleshooting process.

Occasionally I needed to implement instrumented test software to be loaded on wing

and flown for a few test flights in order to produce enough recorded data that I would

analyze on the ground in order to pinpoint the problem and implement the fix in a

service release of the software.

All software produced by Sagem and used by their customers was embedded to

onboard computers installed on the customer s’ aircrafts and required real-time

programming which was performed partly in C language and partly in a proprietary

language similar to BASIC.

2006-2012 Customer Support Manager at Sagem Avionics Inc. (SAFRAN Group)

Dallas, TX

Managed a pool of major Airline customers such as United, US Airways, Fedex, UPS,

Jetblue, Frontier, Alaska Airlines, Delta, LAN, TAM, Avianca, Taca to name a few.

Traveled all across North, Central and South America in order to maintain a close and

fruitful relationship with all our customers and keep their satisfaction level to a

maximum.

Analyzed and charted our company’s service, repair and overhaul performance on my

dedicated product lines as well as surveyed and visited our customers very frequently so

as to identify our strengths and weaknesses resulting in the increase of the former and

the decrease of the latter.

2001-2005 Project Manager at Sagem Avionics Inc.

Dallas, TX

Collaborated with engineers and managers on customer’s side in order to collect,

analyze and structure flight data and then developing and refining monitoring

algorithms to greatly improve our customers’ flight operations as well as maintenance

operations (FOQA / MOQA) resulting in substantial money savings (millions of dollars

annually) while elevating flight safety standards.

All of the above often being done on tight budget and time constraints.
