Nonlinear Electro-Mechanical Coupling Behavior of Ferroelectric Materials
- Assisted with experimental investigation of the electromechanical coupling behavior of ferroelectric
composites, including transducer materials such as Piezo -Electric Ceramic Polymer composites (PZT)
- Designed and manufactured reconfigurable photonic se nsor assembly used to measure linear displacements of
PZT samples under applied high voltages. Assembly was constructed of an insulating material and was capable of
angular measurements of up to +/–75 degrees from Normal position and capable of translation in two dimensions
- Challenges included: vibration suppression/dampening, high voltage containment and experiment’s digital
communications and controller device setup
