Description : Volante Designer is an integrated

environment used for

creating and managing a cartridge, which is a model that captures

message

formats,message mappings and message flows. Once a cartridge design is

completed, it can be generated into platform specific code and deployed

into

Volante runtime environment. Once deployed, the Volante runtime

environment

becomes capable of performing the transformations defined by that

cartridge.

The Volante product suite helps in

building "message

processors". A "message" is a piece of data, either in text or in binary

format,

which has some structure and meaning to a group of participating

entities. A

message is the underlying vehicle that carries information from one

entity to

another. The syntax (structure) and semantics (meaning) of a message

depend on

the common purpose for which it is designed. Organizations such as SWIFT

and

FIX define many different (standard) message formats for use by

participating

organizations. "Processing" a message takes one of two forms either

message is

consumed directly by the application or message is "transformed" into

another

message for consumption by a different application.

Volante Designer provides an extremely rich environment for parsing,

validating

and mapping messages. Once,we have modeled the data flow or

transformation,

the Designer will generate extremely efficient code ( in Java, C++ and

C#) that

can be easily integrated into a proprietary application.

Description : The end user would experience the Volante Payment

Engine as a single entity that interacts with the banking system. The

primary

sub-modules are the VPE core project which handle payments for

(FEDWIRE,

FEDACH, SEPA, CHIPS, SWIFT), bank integration project (contains the

parts that

may have to be customized at the bank site) and the clearing house

projects. The

payment is processed in stages. Each stage is identified by a task.

These tasks are

configured to run in a certain order and whether they have to be

executed in

parallel or in serial in the Task Details table. All of this can be

configured.

During the integration phase with the bank, these details will have to

reviewed

and appropriately handled.

The two primary data structures in the VPE application. concerned are the

PCD (Payment Control Data) and PFD (Payment Field Data). They are reflected

in the DB by tables of similar names. The PFD is the normalized payment

structure. Any payment received by the bank in any format is normalized to

this structure and all processing (except for the initial parsing and

validation) is done on this structure. All control information regarding

the payments (creditor / debtor / Fx etc) are maintained in the PCD.
