Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery

vehicles, by hand or using trucks, forklifts, or other equipment. Read work orders or receive oral

instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Attach identifying tags to

containers or mark them with identifying information. Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that

inventory is protected. Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work

tickets. Stack product in locations such as trailer sheds or in holds areas as directed, using pallets. Install

protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being

transported. Connect electrical equipment to power sources so that it can be tested before use. Band 2x4’s

or rebar, using banding machines to bundle items securely. Shovel material, such as gravel, or spilled

concrete, into disposal bins. Carry out general yard duties, such as performing yard maintenance or

inspections.

As a Truck driver I deliver freight and merchandise within city limits, as well as out-of-town, and are

frequently required to load and unload merchandise with forklift. Drivers must also perform yard duties

as required which include maintaining the day-to-day operations of the lumberyard. They load and unload

materials, store them in proper locations. This is accomplished by using a variety of equipment including

Forklift/Loader, pallet jacks, lumber carts, etc. I also greet and serve yard customers and, therefore, need

to be familiar with inventory, returns and exchange policies.
