OBJECTIVE: I am a retired Machinist who is seeking a career change to make
my remaining years of employment enjoyable and productive.
SKILLS & ABILITIES: With over 40 years in the Machinist trade, I am
familiar with most shop equipment, including conventional and CNC machines
as well as a history of programming, troubleshooting programs and training
others on Machine Shop equipment.. I have approximately 8 years experience
as a lead/supervisor, maintaining employee records, evaluations and
discipline. I have been responsible for maintaining shop metrics and
reports to upper management on operations..
In addition, I have approximately 4 years experience in Inside
Sales/Customer Service, dealing with large and small corporations and
government agencies, first as a Customer Service Representative and later
as Sales Office Manager of a small company in the 1960's. I have excellent
people skills and enjoy meeting new people and discussing useful ideas with
them.
SPECIAL TRAINING: My most recent training has been focusing on quality and
Lean Manufacturing. I have attended several weeklong sessions on Geometric
Tolerancing, have been certified as a yellow belt in Six Sigma training,
have completed many Lean training sessions and participated in lean events
focused on improving work flow. In addition I have attended off site
courses on Cause and corrective action to assist in creating Quality
documents.
