System Architect

• Hadoop distributed cluster: Completed Cloudera training and worked on complete setup of Hadoop cluster on Linux

using CDH4. Setup test ETL integration from Oracle data warehouse to Hbase on Hadoop cluster using Sqoop as the ETL

tool.

• ETL design and implementation: This is the project to design and implement BI solution on ERP. The source is Oracle

ERP and the target is Oracle Data warehouse. I was the architect to design the data model and ETL transformations using

Informatica power center (ver. 9.5.1). I have designed the logical/physical data models for data marts and ETL

workflows from OLTP source to Oracle Data warehouse.

• Informatica Data Replication (IDR): This project was to replicate complete data from Oracle database to Netezza

database in near real-time. This is a data warehousing solution for the company's focus on Big data in the future.

Role: IT Architect role, DBA roles in this project. I was the liaison between the data warehousing development team

/DBA team/ Unix Infra team/ Windows Server group and storage. I coordinated well with all these teams and setup the

windows servers for the IDR installation and got the NFS storage for the archive logs, installed new database on 2 node

RAC cluster and cloned production to act as a new source, worked on the optional-alternate archive log NFS location to

get the performance unaffected on the source.

• Data Warehouse (SAP BI 4.0/ BO-XI3.1/2/6.5) implementation: Those were multiple (4) projects happened in different

timelines in the span of 4 years and complete end-to-end projects from the planning through implementation and go live.

Role: System Architect. I was the primary who planned the servers, product license procurement, installation,

configuration, co-ordination with development and end-users for the complete testing. Those were very time consuming

projects, which needed lot of interfaces between different sources such as ERP/Engineering applications/different

Business applications and tools such as Informatica, control-M, Business Objects, LCM(life Cycle Manager), Oracle

Data Integrator with web services such as Apache/Tomcat. I worked with many teams such as Web services team for

Apache/Tomcat /Siteminder (SSO) integration, VIP, netscalar configuration, Sitescope monitoring, Unix infra team for

Unix server setups, DBA team for the database requirements, storage team for SAN and NFS file system, Windows server

group for windows server needs.

• OEM 12c implementation (Enterprise wide database monitoring tool): This project is to implement OEM 12c on Linux

Extended RAC (ERAC) clusters.

Role: Tech Lead for the end-to-end implementation of this project. I worked with the Unix Infrastructure team to plan the

servers, worked with the Storage team to plan SAN storage on two different data centers, worked with DBA team to

install 4 node 11gr2 RAC on Linux and 2node application installation on Linux, worked with Networking team for VIP

and GSS setup. I worked with Oracle support for issues resolution. I have done complete co-ordination, meetings,

communication with all the related teams and worked with entire DBA team to test the OEM KPI's, FO, LOAD testing’s.

The project went very well and in Live in production now.

• At EMC Corporation, Westborough, MA as Database Architect: This project is to provide 24/7 Application DBA support

• At Teradyne Inc., North Reading, MA as Project Manager (Oracle Applications): This is a HCL’s one of the big projects

which gave end-to-end support for Teradyne corporation’s IT operations.

Role: To plan and manage all database support activities for the entire project. I managed a team of 7 people. Involved in

the Project of upgrading 10.7 to 11.5.10.Detail database system study and implement better practices to improve the

performance and decrease the downtime. Recommendations, plan, design development of new technologies to betterment

the system. Numerous shell scripts, cron schedules for the automation of maintenance alerts, DB Monitor / File system

monitor scripts.
