PROJECT TITLE: Design of an Efficient Fast Radix -2 DCT Algorithm With

Variable

Length Reconfigurable Coding Based On CORDIC.

> Designing and developing the architecture.

> Software Coding and testing of the board.

> Overseeing the Accuracy by modifying the architecture.

PROJECT SUMMARY: In this project, 1D signal is fed to DCT architecture,

in which sub band decomposition is done. The intermediate signals, thus

obtained are fed to modified unfolded CORDIC algorithm. The existing

modified unfolded CORDIC is replaced with scaling free CORDIC as the

rotation of the existing algorithm occurs only at 2^16th iteration

whereas rotation of the scaling free CORDIC algorithm occurs at 2^8th

iteration. As the rotation occurs at 2^8th iteration, the area, power,

delay and MSE reduces and the PSNR value increases. Three different 2D

images wiz Lena, Cameraman, Crowd are selected based on their frequency

information and fed to IDCT through DCT .The original image is

retrieved at the output of the IDCT and the PSNR values are measured.

. Demonstrated a project on "AUTOMATED PREPAID ENERGY DISTRIBUTION

USING GSM" based on Embedded Systems.
