OBJECTIVE Looking for an entry level position in mechanical engineering related fields

SKILLS Laser Processing/Dynamic Modeling/Mechatronics/CAD/FEA

Software: MATLAB, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro-E/Creo, Abaqus, LabVIEW, C, Microsoft Office

Machine Shop: Lathe, Mill, Drill Press, CNC, Laser Cutter, 3D Printer

PROJECTS

Columbia University New York, NY

Graduate Research with femtosecond laser Jan 2014 - Jan 2015

• Processed cornea sample using femtosecond pulsed laser and motorized stage. Investigated

temperature profile of sample when subject to laser treatment by using thermocouple. Gained

experience working with data acquisition card and LabVIEW.

• Conducted research on laser-matter interaction theory. First authored two conference papers.

Modeling and Identification of Dynamic Systems Sep 2014 - Dec 2014

• Modeled and simulated multiple dynamic systems using linear graph method and Simulink.

• Analyzed raw data from sensors using MATLAB. Identified dynamic systems using ARX and

Kalman Filter model. Applied the models to effectively estimate the behavior of the systems.

Finite Element Thermal Analysis Dec 2013

• Computed the velocity profile of a 2D flow by implementing FEA methodology in MATLAB.

• Simulated stress profile on a shell component subject to external forces using Abaqus.

Tsinghua University Beijing, China

Design of a Multilayered Garage July 2012

• Proposed an improved design of multilayered garage after field investigation and literature search.

The new design allowed movement of every parking position while using less motors.

• Created detailed models of a using all components and assembly using AutoCAD.

Speed Control of DC Motor Aug 2011

• Assembled a circuit on breadboard that enabled real-time speed measurement and PI control of a

DC motor. A 1 rps steady state error was reached within an input range of 0-30 rps.

EXPERIENCE

Columbia University New York, NY

Teaching Assistant, The Art of Engineering Course Jan 2014 - Dec 2014

• Advised undergraduate/high school students in designing and building a toy robot, with emphasis

in CAD and programming. Integrated modules such as servo motors, limit switches, photo

detectors and arduino boards were used. Assisted with material processing in machine shop.

Grader, Computer Graphics and Design Course Jan 2014 - May 2014

• Graded assignments and exams for undergraduate level CAD course.
