I was given the opportunity to volunteer in a cadaver lab for a month over winter break. I shadowed the director
of the lab and assisted with demonstrations during surgical technician classes being taught.
Laboratory Intern at CoGenesys, Rockville MD
April 2008 – July 2008
This was an internship I undertook following my senior year of high school. During my two months with
CoGenesys, I purified and attempted to crystallize two different protein samples using a hanging drop vapor
diffusion method and adjusting conditions such as pH and solute concentration within the reservoirs. By the end
of the internship, I successfully obtained crystal growth in one of the two samples.
