• Copper arbitrage: Traded London Metals Exchange (LME) forward contracts against Commodities Exchange of
New York (COMEX) futures contracts via various electronic platforms.
• Through study of fundamentals, currency risk, Shanghai Futures Exchange copper futures, technical analysis,
cash vs forward spread, open interest, news, and daily price behavior, put on and liquidated short-term positions
with up to 6 million dollars of margin.
Floor Trader – Options Market maker 2/2005-2008*
• Provided markets in the High Grade Copper Options pit for COMEX in contracts that included all strikes
extending out as far as 12 months.
• Put on various options strategies, understanding the accompanying risks of each flavor.
• Managed and traded large options positions on a long-term basis in a very illiquid market through the
understanding of delta, gamma, theta, epsilon, and rho (options’ risk management) .
• Responsible for the dynamic hedging of the various forms of risk associated with these positions. This included
liquidation, market adjustment, re-modeling, defensive trading.
• Traded LME copper options as a vehicle for further hedging and to take advantage of additional opportunities.
Crude Arbitrager 2004-2006*
• Arbitraged NYMEX WTI crude oil futures against CME Mini-crude.
Senior Clerk 2003-2005*
• Responsible for the reconciliation of all trades, balancing the accounts, verifying the accuracy of open interest as
understood by trader versus clearing house; for crude products options traders for the markets of unleaded
gasoline, heating oil, crude, and cracks.
• Updated trading models (pricing sheets) per traders’ preference and market conditions and provided up to date
risk analysis.
• Managed a team of 3 clerks. Responsible for training, quality assurance, and options education.
• Worked as a point clerk, utilizing sign language that represented quantities, prices, months, and other particular
terms; relayed the current market of the underlying futures month to options traders, executed trades through a
futures broker as per request or condition in the Heating Oil, Unleaded Gasoline and Crude Oil futures pits.
• Acted as liaison to main office in Chicago to reconcile positions of all New York traders which included
NYMEX, COMEX, NYBOT and the Coffee Sugar Cocoa Exchange.
