Academic Project details:

Title: Suicides in India

Objective:

> To compare the suicide rate, trend line is increasing or decreasing in

different states/UTs in India for different years which is expected to

reveal the suicides at different states/UTs of the India.

> To analyses the relationship between total number of suicides and year

(2000-2012).

> Forecasting the future trends on the basis of the analysis of suicide

data from 2000-2012.

> Testing the significance difference between total number of suicides

and year (2000-2012).

> To test for suicide rate is dependent of time.

Description:

Generally Suicide is not a event that takes place in usual course of

life; it happens when pain exceeds resources for coping with pain. Suicide

is a major public health problem all around the world including developed

countries. The study reveals that out of three cases of suicide reported

every 15 minutes in India.

Here in this project work we analyze suicide data of all states/UTs in

India where suicides are

Registered under different sites. It is interesting to know that suicide

rate in our country.

Statistical Techniques: Correlation, Simple linear regression, t-test, F-

test, ANOVA,

Confidence Interval.

Tools: MS EXCEL, SPSS.
