• Implemented a procedure that evaluated EHS risks and controls of new tasks in the

• Persuaded OSHA to grant an exemption from its HAZWOPER regulation that saved

money and allowed the project to continue.

• Working with EPA’s project manager, we developed a risk assessment encompassing

safety, industrial hygiene, environmental and fire hazards to become part of an EPA RFP.

Ebasco Services, Inc., Linden, NJ, Manager of H&S, 1987-1991

• Brought a flexible, rational approach to worker safety on hazardous waste remediation

sites.

• When medical restriction prohibited supervisor from using PPE needed to perform his

duties, I developed equally effective alternative PPE that overcame restriction.

Warner-Lambert, Morris Plains, NJ, Corporate Manager of Industrial Hygiene, 1973-1987

• Established an industrial hygiene lab and achieved AIHA accreditation the first

pharmaceutical company to have an accredited I.H. lab.

• Identified and worked with a team to implement a facility-wide program to comply with

OSHA and reduce employees’ exposure to and body burden of lead.

• Directed the development of a passive monitoring method for ethylene oxide, the

research to prove the validity of the method and presented the results to NIOSH, who

approved the method and accepted it as one of its protocols.

• Worked with toxicology and legal to develop internal exposure limits for products.
