Cisco Systems, (Contractor) July 2014 – Present
WLAN and Pre-Sales Consultant for Cisco, exclusively for the team working on the Bank of America
LAN/WAN/WLAN/Voice refresh project. Duties and responsibilities included, but were not limited to the
following:
- Creating bill of material documentation for various deployments within the Bank of America project,
pertaining to the wireless portion.
- Working closely with project management, as well as Cisco designated data engineers to plan,
design and deploy wireless networks within the bank’s existing regionally, as well as, locally
controlled WLAN network.
- Successfully manage anywhere from 35 – 40 projects at once, at any given time
- Simultaneously hold the job responsibilities of pre-sales engineer, as well as, a deployment engineer.
Independent Contractor, August 2013 – July 2014
WLAN Engineering Consultant
WLAN consultant, self employed. As an independent consultant, my time spent doing this mainly comprised of
performing WLAN design work, being a subject matter expert with 802.11 concepts, and using AirMagnet for
predictive design. I would conduct the surveys myself, or on one occasion, I led a 4 man team for a larger
project, and would deliver the documentation deliverables, along with my recommendations. Key projects

Sr. Wireless Network Engineer
Sr Wireless Engineer on the engineering team for a long term project for the deployment of multiple Apple
retail stores worldwide. My main function is to oversee the deployment of various network equipment onsite for
the opening of new stores. Duties also include remote support for various small Apple projects including, but
not limited to the following:

Nexus IS, Inc, Southern California, Oct 2007 - May 2011
Sr. Wireless LAN Subject Matter Expert
Sr. Wireless Engineer for multiple deployments ranging from small office environments to large scale, multi-
location enterprise deployments, and overall 802.11 theory expert. I oversaw projects that I lead from the
design phase to the final implementation phase. On larger projects, I was in charge of junior level personnel,
overseeing new cabling and wireless access point placement. Well versed in multiple Cisco wireless LAN
products including: Wireless Control System (WCS), Mobility Services Engine (MSE), 2700 Series Location
Appliance, 5500 and 4400 Series Wireless LAN Controllers and lightweight access points, as well as legacy
autonomous wireless LAN solutions.
Lead engineer for a wireless LAN deployment for the California Department of Corrections. I
implemented, as well as helped design the wireless infrastructure from the data center in Torrance,
CA, to the prison end-sites throughout the state of California.
Lead engineer for the deployment of a new wireless LAN solution for Treasure Island Hotel &
Casino in Las Vegas Nevada. The solution I designed and implemented were two 5508 WLCs, one
being the main controller, and one being an anchor controller for guest users sitting in a DMZ.
Member of the Deployment Standards Committee.
Lead engineer for the wireless LAN upgrade for Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. This upgrade
and deployment consisted of: A new 5508 WLC to their current environment, the introduction of a
Mobility Services Engine to the current WCS, the replacement of over 400 lightweight access points
with 3500 series CleanAir APs, and the upgrade of their 4 existing WiSM Blades. I also oversaw the
cabling team that we sub-contracted out for this project.

Wireless LAN and IP Telephony Technician
Network Engineer, intermediate level. My duties here were to assist in staging small to large scale
deployments in the realm of wireless and voice projects. Once staged and configured, I would assist the senior
engineers on site with racking/stacking and troubleshooting. I worked my way up to a senior level wireless
engineer while employed here.
Lead engineer for the site survey and wireless design for the Los Angeles County/ USC Hospital.
Lead engineer for the wireless LAN deployment for Saddleback Unified School District in South
Orange County, CA. I was tasked with the configuration and testing of all 47 4404 WLCs and 1131
series access points in the staging lab for the 14 schools and district office.
