Able to communicate with others and work in multidisciplinary teams.
Work Experience:
Design Engineer, Apogee Translite Inc. 2014
Created product 3D models, detail drawings, and BOM (Bill of Materials) for fluorescent and LED lighting
fixtures for both standard product line and individual orders.
Restructured and redesigned lighting fixtures to accommodate for customer requests like varying
mounting provisions, multiple run configurations etc. (Primary software used: SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Undergraduate Research Assistant, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering (SBU) 2013
Worked on projects which focused on using control system principles to drive and operate mechanical
components and sensor electronics using computations tools like Matlab, LabView and Arduino.
Mechanical Engineer (Intern), Koehler Instruments Inc. 2012
Designed and modeled supplementary sheet metal apparatus for oil testing equipment. (Primary software
used: Inventor, AutoCAD)
Coordinated with lead engineer, machinists, sales spokesperson to facilitate manufacturing of prototypes
& final builds.
Academic Projects:
Walk Assist Device:
As a part of Assistive Technology Projects, an electro -mechanical device designed and built to assist
patients with lower limb weakness by facilitating their walking and helping them regain natural gait cycle.
Volumetric Measurement Device:
Devised an instrument using fluid mechanics and advanced electronics to obtain precise quantities of
water ( 2cc per 1500cc) by regulating a solenoid valve, calibrated and controlled using LabVIEW.
Electro-mechanical Projects (Arduino):
Humanoid toy responds to external stimuli like sudden movement, obstacle proximity and ambient light
conditions.
Quadcopter (copter with four rotors): programmed the microcontroller (Arduino) and necessary sensors
to achieve flight functionalities like altitude hold and auto-leveling.
