JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Desktop Techinician/Technical Support

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Information Technician is responsible for installing and

maintaining computer hardware, software and networks.

SCOPE

The way that the position contributes to and impacts on the

organization

The Information Technician reports to the Senior Administrative Officer and

provides hardwareand software maintenance, training and consultation, and

recommendations about future planning and development of resources.

Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure

maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Basic Tasks:

. Repair computers with damage or dysfunctions.

. Install or download computer applications

. Assemble computer parts.

. Do network maintenance and troubleshooting

. Check the capacity of the computer

. Ensure the functions of the computer

. Check and repair computer connections

. Communicate with clients about the computer condition

. Advise proper care of computer and the best computer programs and

brand.
