The objective of the project is to perform the application testing of ACS
Pharmacy POS for claim adjudication for 5.1 to D.0 NCPDP Standard
transition. The objective of this project was the migration of legacy
(COBOL) database to OS + (Java POS engine) specifically for the 3 states of
ACS client - Montana (Medicaid and Mental health programs), Hawaii and
Maryland.
ACS Pharmacy is a web application that enables pharmacist to submit the
claim for adjudication. The process involves Validation of Member
eligibility for Active coverage and plan coverage, Validation of the
submitting pharmacy and the prescriber, also the drug coverage on the
incoming claim. Claim Engine 2000, known as CE2000 is used to submit the
claim from ACS pharmacy. It involves the Third party 'Relay Health' for the
claim request to be sent for adjudication in POS engine and get the claim
response back to the submitted pharmacy.

NASCO benefits testing process ensures the benefits are applied
as per the benefit plan design and validates before the group moves to
production. Any member who gets enrolled to WellPoint Anthem healthcare
insurance plans will be assigned to a benefit and the system should give
the subscriber the flexibility to choose the benefits that he would want
the coverage for. Medical benefits are programmed specifically to each
subscriber's plan. The Benefit Testing process requires verification of the
Group Checklist or Benefit Plan Design (BPD), Benefit Coding Grid, and
NASCO System Coding.
