Customers located in Matamoros, Reynosa, N. Laredo, Juarez,
Del Rio, and the interior of Mexico
Hired in 1999 to start a turn key manufacturing facility on
the Texas/Mexico border to bring the product closer to the
customer with shorter lead times and freight cost savings.
In charge of all aspects to identify location: from Economic
Development incentives to demographics for locations closest
to the customers. Managed all details of the operation,
recruiting, hiring, terminations and all the personnel
issues. Facility was 25,000 square ft that needed additional
Electrical upgrade requirement (120v to 480v) from the city,
Air conditioning requirements, and air compressor
requirements; including Fire protection upgrades. Assisted
Engineering and Maintenance department in Plumbing for Air
and Water as needed. Moved and put into place 20 presses
ranging from 28 ton to 200 ton, a parts washer, vibratory
burnishing process, raw material and finish goods inventory
area. Prioritized a Tool room for die maintenance and repair
with two class A toolmakers. Visited Customer plants to
provide, technical support on product-specific related
opportunities. Responsible for adapting the existing Quality
System, to the QS 9000 requirements to obtain the ISO/TS

Plant Manager
Managed a contract powder coating operation with complete
control of all facets of the manufacturing process, planning
managing and resolving customer requests. The volume for the
year was over five million units for various customers,
including automotive with a quality level of 2500 PPM's at
the customer. Involved in the design of racking for the
products to ensure the maximum utilization of the state of
the art equipment and the 700 linear foot conveyor.
Installation of an eight stage washer over the holiday
shutdown to increase capacity of coating operation; assisted
the engineering and maintenance department in the plumbing of
all installation requirements. Completed a construction
expansion of a 130,000 sq.ft, addition to the facility for a
new product line: which included raw material, metal
stamping, fabrication, welding, powder coating, and final
assembly area for a new treadmill equipment line.
Responsible for the waste treatment area and water generation
of 25,000 gallons of Reverse Osmosis water on a daily bases.
Coordinated purchasing of new equipment and plant layout for
inventory and process flow. Involved in all customer quoting
and ensuring all PPAPs were submitted on time. Responsible
for engineering group that maintained all central plant
operations, and were responsible for all maintenance
activities. Coordinated the work of others on assignments
and allocated work to, and assisted, inexperienced teams.
Worked with upper management and Quality Department on the
implementation of QS-9000 at plant level, utilizing both
English and Spanish.

Operations Manager
Managed a metal stamping and aluminum die casting operation
with complete control of quality, productivity and on time
delivery schedules. Producing rotors and stators for General
Electric motor assembly plant in Reynosa, Mexico. Involved
in the purchasing of new equipment and plant layout for
continuity of product flow. Highly involved in management of
special projects and new product implementation, worked
closely with the Quality department to insure that all PPAP
submittals were on time. Responsible for scheduling of
maintenance and repair of building and grounds, which
included parking area and perimeter fencing, lighting,
security, facility operations and landscaping.

Managed an injection molding three shift operations; with
five supervisors, fifteen Van Dorn machines, and 75 direct
labor employees. Produced automotive plastic AC, glove box
components for GM and Toyota. Machines ranged from 120T to
700T with CRT and EL controllers. Hands on style of manager
involved in production control utilizing visual Kan Ban
system for process improvements. Under general direction,
supervised Molding Machines Maintenance Supervisor and all
preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activity.
Assisted in all new product transfer and designs from
corporate, and/or sister plants in the United States to be
moved to Mexico. Worked on the implementations of QS-9000 at
plant level applied policies, procedures and best practice
processes to support facilities management and other office
service activities.
