Project Indicium
Client RBS, UK and Singapore
Company RBS, Gurgaon (http://www.rbs.com/)
Technology/Software J2EE, FAME
Project Description:
Indicium is used for market data loading through feed processing (Batch
File Processing) and Web Services. The values (risk codes) received from
feeds (internal and external) are stored in FAME which is used ultimately
for UNIVaR calculations. The loading of risk codes into FAME is involves
two processes viz Feed Processing and Fame Processing.
During this processing there are different files created depending of
certain validation and these files are further used for the calculation of
'Value at Risk' (VaR). The other modules of Indicium include Creating and
running Analytics, running the feeds, re-running the feeds.
Also, 'Manage Test Results' forms an important form of this application
which displays the list of failed risk codes of different feeds based on
the search criteria given. This screen also enables the users to pass the
failed risk codes or enter new value for the risk code and save the data in
FAME. This module provides various functions that can be used on risk codes
like rerun, pass, review, and unreview to name a few.
Contribution:
. Leading a team of 3 test engineers for the current project
. Handled the complete database testing
. Creating Requirement Traceability Matrix.
. Consolidating/Preparing Daily /Weekly Status Reports
. Involved in walkthroughs, understanding the Project Requirements using
Specifications
. Designing test cases and scenarios for the applications by referring

Project Risk Factor Control (RFC)
Client RBS, UK and Singapore
Company RBS, Gurgaon (http://www.rbs.com/)
Technology/Software J2EE, FAME
Project Description:
RFC is used for creating PLAFs and Risk Factors that are used by Univar
(calculation engine) to calculate VaR. Risk Factors and PLAFs are created
from UI and the data us saved in Sybase and FAME Database. The main
function of RFC is TSrefresh which is the process to assign values to PLAFs
that can be read by Univar. These values are extracted from the Risk
Factors stored in FAME and are assigned to corresponding PLAFs.
Contribution:
. Managing and testing the complete application
. Handling the complete database testing
. Creating Requirement Traceability Matrix.
. Designing test cases and scenarios for the applications by
referring FRD
. Automated the complete regression suite using QTP 10.0

(all internal) with huge set of daily load of around 2.2Million trades
(both Intraday and End of the day Trades) and applying various enrichments
(3 shift & 11 shift profiles) with parallel computing using Data Synapse
Grid & Loading the trades in Coherence Cache, and provide various APIs to
be used by layers above like Capital, PIR etc to generate Capital
reporting, Repo VAR etc.
Contribution:
. Managing and testing the application
. Database testing
. Designing test cases and scenarios for the applications by
