Software Engineer

• Implemented Trader Feeder, a unified platform for capturing trade drop copies for all Merrill Lynch

clients with extendable functionality, elaborate filters, and consolidated support team/operations

platform integration with a web-based trade reporting, tracking, and monitoring system including

email alerts.

o The system, written in C# .Net, is configured from a Sybase database. The trades are

received via Smart Sockets (Talarian) middleware and published back to the middleware or

delivered to third-party applications though sockets.

• Designed application which captured CBOE RTC (Real Time Connection) feed which delivered

trades from the CBOE to the trading systems, sent updates to the exchange, and published in a

standardized message format.

o Written in VB .Net, accessed an RDBMS database, and published though the Smart Sockets

middleware.

• Supported legacy Trade Feeder application, written in VB6, which processed trade data from several

exchanges and provided data to internal and third-party platforms.

Reuters America 1995 to 2003

Software Engineer (1998 to 2003)

• Led development of system that receives market data feed, performs configurable transformations on

information, and sends transactions to central database. Application sends several thousand

transactions per minute and is responsible for over a thousand financial instruments. System is

coded in C++, runs under Windows NT, and is configured with XML from Sybase RDBMS.

• Coded portions of GUI / MFC layout design application in C++.

• Migrated system using object-oriented database to Sybase RDBMS.

• Wrote transaction protocol modules for system that turned itemized/binary data into page-based/text

format. System is coded in C++, running under VMS OS, on Alpha platforms.

• Designed and developed test configuration system, using Oracle database and MFC/C++ user

interface.

• Provided ongoing support for major contributing sub-system of page-based network of financial

data.

• Supported itemized feed of fixed income instruments with monitoring and error reporting tools.

• Increased throughput 25% by diagnosing bottleneck in itemized feed and redesigning firmware and

driver.

Software/Electronic Design Engineer (1982 to 1990)

• Designed mail-auditing system. System networked of dozens of inserters, gathered and stored timely

information, generated various reports, and operated in complete graphic environment.

• Developed graphic environment manager console that enabled supervisors to monitor up to 50

machines on network and generate reports.

• Performed simulation studies of theoretical throughput limits, and optimized system by examining

all factors. System delays were reduced by an order of magnitude and several orders were

completed.

• Designed advanced computer controlled GUI-based control panel.

• Programmed microprocessor-based control systems for mail inserting equipment.

Patent

Constructed mathematical model for patent #4,959,795. Name was included on patent needed to protect

company’s intellectual property rights.
